WELCOME TO GREYHOUND VIRTUAL AIRWAYS

BACK TO

The idea behind Greyhound Airways is a fictional airline based on the TWA acquisition just before the merge with American Airlines in 2001.  It is also a culmination of former Southern Airways and New York Air destinations, which both had cooperative agreements with Texas International Airlines in the 1970s and 1980s. The vision was also stemmed from a retro nostalgic flair with a taste of Americana and identifiable U.S destinations.

From an aircraft standpoint, Greyhound has moved forward with the launch customer delivery of the Airbus A318, (which in the real-world, was cancelled due to the merge). We have also decided to keep the TWA 757s. These two aircraft will be flown in TWA colors until a repaint agreement can be reached.

In addition, Greyhound chose modern aircraft such as the 737-600 and the 787-8, which have been painted in the Greyhound livery and have already been put into service.

Greyhound decided to preserve the STL crew base but has otherwise scaled down the legacy operation to just a few destinations.  Possible expansion plans include a reopening of the New York City crew base (KJFK) and the acquisition of additional Caribbean and European routes. Crew bases are also being considered for New Orleans (KMSY), Oklahoma City (KOKC), and/or Kansas City (KMCI).
